1. Scope
This policy covers the Mood Phase mobile app (iOS) and the moodphase.com website. The App provides immersive audio-visual experiences using procedural audio and GPU-rendered visuals. We designed it to minimize the collection of personal data.
2. What we collect
Account data: When you sign in with Apple, we receive a platform-provided user identifier. We do not receive or store your name, email address, or other personal details unless Apple shares them at your request.
Subscription data: App Store purchase receipts and platform-provided identifiers needed to validate your subscription status. Billing is handled entirely by Apple.
Custom moods: Mood configurations you create (sound textures, frequencies, visual settings, color palettes) are stored locally on your device. We do not upload or sync custom mood data to our servers.
Preferences: App settings such as notification preferences are stored locally on your device.
Diagnostics: Basic crash logs, device/OS/app version. No IDFA-based tracking; no targeted advertising.
Website: Our website does not use cookies for tracking. Basic server logs (IP address, page visited) may be collected for security purposes.
3. How we use data
We use your data to: provide the App and manage subscriptions; monitor reliability and fix crashes; and respond to support requests.
We do not send marketing emails, sell your data, or share it for behavioral advertising. All audio and visual processing happens on your device.
4. Third-party services
We share data only with processors necessary to operate the service: Apple for authentication and billing, and cloud infrastructure for crash reporting. We do not send any audio, visual, or mood data to third-party services.
5. Retention
Account identifiers: Retained until you delete your account.
Subscription receipts: Kept as needed to validate active subscriptions and comply with tax/audit obligations.
Custom moods and preferences: Stored only on your device; deleted when you uninstall the App or delete your account.
Diagnostics: Retained only as long as needed for security and reliability purposes.
6. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Contract performance (to provide the App); legitimate interests (security, reliability monitoring); and consent where required by applicable law.
7. Your choices and rights
In-app: Delete your account and all associated data; manage your subscription via Apple; control notification preferences.
Rights (where applicable): access, deletion, portability, rectification, objection, and consent withdrawal. To exercise these rights,contact us.
8. Children
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in EEA/UK without parental consent). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, restricted access controls, and least-privilege principles. Sensitive data (tokens, preferences) is stored using the device's secure storage. No system is 100% secure.
10. International transfers
Data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
11. Changes
We may update this policy at any time. We will post updates here and update the "Effective" date. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice.
